11-year-old girl found dead, raped in Angeles city

An 11-year-old girl was found dead in front of a house after she was raped in Angeles City, Pampanga, on Tuesday.

According to a police investigation, the victim was on her way to school when the suspect took her to the house and tied her hands and neck.

The person who reported the incident said he was the house’s caretaker, but he was also the primary suspect in the crime.

“Merong mga witnesses na nag-identify dun mismo sa reportee…at may nakita silang testigo na nagturo sa suspek na reportee mismo turned-out suspect ay may mga duguan na damit,” said Police Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalang, director ng Angeles City Police Office.

(Some witnesses identified the reportee. Another witness saw the reportee turned out suspect had blood-stained clothes.)

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on the suspect “Loleng,” he initially denied he had raped the girl, but eventually admitted the crime.

According to police, the suspect was previously involved in rape and illegal drugs. “Loleng” still has an old case against him.

“Itutuloy pa rin natin dapat ‘yung naunang kaso niya at itong panibagong kaso,” said Sangalang.

(We will pursue his first case and also this new case against him.)

Another suspect in Santos’ rape and murder was arrested and charged, along with “Loleng.” They were accused of manslaughter concerning RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, while police are pursuing another suspect.

“Hindi ka nga nahuli ng pulis pero may nasa taas pa rin naman tayo na, which is, naniniwala kami na makakamtan din namin ‘yung hustisya,” said the victim’s relatives.

(The police may not have arrested, but someone is still up there, which is, we believe we can achieve justice.)

Authorities are still waiting for the victim’s medico-legal results to confirm the rape.
