23-year-old mother in Camarines Norte raped, killed

A 23-year-old mother in Purok 1, Poblacion, Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte, was hacked to death inside her own house.

The body of Anna Carmella Soterio was discovered bathed in her own blood on Tuesday morning.

The hand was cut off, the head was almost separated from the body due to the injuries that the victim had suffered.

According to the victim’s parent, who refused to face the camera, he would have woken up his daughter Anna Carmella on Tuesday morning to accompany her to town to buy construction materials.

Since she did not answer, they decided to enter the house. It was there that the lifeless victim was discovered. Next to her was her 4-year-old daughter, who was fast asleep.

They quickly picked up the child and checked to see if anyone was there. Luckily, the child did not suffer any injury.

According to the victim’s mother, her daughter had no enemies and did not leave the house.

He added that the victim’s wallet containing more than P10,000 was missing. The suspect allegedly did not take the cellphone and appliances from the victim’s house.

The hole that the suspect went through can be seen at the back of the house. According to the victim’s mother, the husband was at home when the crime occurred. It works in Manila.

According to Police Major Kim Lawrence Arenas, Chief of the Sta Elena Municipal Police Station, the suspect may have been monitoring the victim for a long time. It is also possible that the victim knew the suspect and was very angry to commit the heinous crime.

Since the victim has no clothes, it is possible that she was raped.

Authorities added that the residents of the crime scene are almost related, so the men in the area are now considered suspects.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
