Hensie Zinampan, the suspect in shooting old woman in QC, to face murder charges

Police Master Sergeant Hensie Zinampan, the suspect in the shooting of a 52-year-old woman in Barangay Greater Fairview in Quezon City, will face murder charges, Philippine National Police chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar says.

Eleazar instructed Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Antonio Candido Yarra to file the murder case against Police Master Sergeant Hensie Zinampan.

“Nagbigay ako ng instruction sa direktor ng QCPD, dahil lahat naman ng ebidensiya na kailangan na gagamitin natin para ma-file-an ng kasong murder, is ma-file agad namin,” he said.

(I instructed the QCPD director to file the case immediately since all evidence needed was available to file a murder case.)

Zinampan was arrested after being caught on video shooting a 52-year-old neighbor in Barangay Greater Fairview in  last Monday night.

The victim was identified as Lilibeth Valdez.

The video even captured the whole incident at Sitio Ruby.

It was nine o’clock Monday night when the victim bought a cigarette at the store.

The suspect immediately approached, pulled a gun from the bag, placed it behind him, and spoke to the victim.

The suspect can be heard in the video saying that they were both drunk.

Hensie Zinampan later pulled the hair of the victim. The victim pleaded but was shot at close range by the suspect. The 52-year-old woman died on the spot.

According to Beverly Luceño, the victim’s daughter, the suspect, and her older brother argued before the shooting. They allegedly fought because they were both drunk.

Fairview Police arrested the suspect, and they seized from him the gun allegedly used in the crime.

However, Hensie Zinampan flatly denied it and said that he did not commit the crime, even though there was a video.

Luceño said she hopes the policeman will feel guilty and take responsibility for what happened to her .

Police have taken the suspect to Camp Karingal.
