Sulu suicide bomber looks like Caucasian, military says

Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) said that Sulu suicide bomber looks like Caucasian.

The suicide bombing incident happened on a military detachment in Sulu, Sunday, September 8.

WesMinCom (Armed Forces of the Philippines) commander Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana said that military troops first spotted the bomber at kilometer 4 in the street going the Indanan town proper on Monday.

Reports said the soldiers found the woman’s actions suspicious that is why they stopped her at a checkpoint in Kilometer 3.

Though a soldier stopped her, the woman continued to walk, according to Sobejena. There he noticed that a bomb was bulging under woman’s dress.

The soldier shouted to his fellow troops that there was a suicide bomber.
Reports also said that they heard the woman shouted “Allahu Akbar” before the explosion, according to Sobejana.
The military and investigators recovered the bomber’s dismembered body parts in the blast site. It will undergo a DNA test to determine the woman’s identity.
The military believed that the Sulu suicide bomber was a member of the Abu Sayyaf group’s leader named Hajan Sawadjaan.

As per Sobejana, there are other seven (7) more foreign terrorists in Western at Central Mindanao.

This suicide terror attack was already the fourth suicide bombing in the Philippines since 2018. A Moroccan committed the first one in Lamitan, Basilan which killed ten civilians.

In June, eight were killed in an explosion in Indanan, Sulu.
