Police find persons of interest for murder of lady driver in Laguna

Police have a “persons of interest” in connection with the brutal killing of a lady driver who was sidelined as a “transporter” using her car in Calamba, Laguna.

Darlene Cay told the GMA News “24 Oras” on Tuesday that police are still investigating the case of 34-year-old Jang Lucero, who was found dead due and covered with multiple stab wounds inside of his car.

Authorities have not identified the suspects, but they already have considered persons of interest.

In the police investigation, Lucero was traveling Sunday night to transport three passengers from Calamba to Gil Puyat, Makati.

Lucero sidelined in transporting passengers after she lost her job during the lockdown.

“We have some persons of interest, but right now, we cannot name names as to the persons of interest because we want to be sure, and we want an airtight case against the suspects,” said Calamba police chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Gene Licud.

“It appears na maaaring ito ay kakilala niya [she knew them],” he added.

There are also angles that authorities are investigating the motive of the crime. It could not be robbery because the victim’s cellphone and bag were left at the crime scene.

“We do not have the exact numbers as to… kung ilan talaga ‘yung kaniyang saksak, pero definitely marami ito. Sa tingin namin ay hindi talaga bubuhayin ‘yung victim. Kasi may tama siya dito sa may bandang dibdib, tapat ng kaniyang puso. That is the initial,” said Licud.

(We do not have the exact numbers as to how many stab wounds she suffered, but they are many. We think the suspect did not want the victim to live. Because she had wounds in the chest, across her heart.)

They are also investigating all of the routes that Lucero passed by on Sunday night, including everyone she talked with that day.

“Kasama’ yan sa ating mga assumptions, na ito ay pinagplanuhan dahil sa pagsasagawa naman ng isang krimen ay aside from the crime of passion, pinagpaplanuhan. Hindi lang ito ‘yung biglang outburst,” said Licud.

(That is also included in our assumptions, that this crime is premeditated. That aside from the crime of passion, this was planned. It’s not just the sudden outburst.)
