“Ang direksyon po kasi natin sa senior high schools is not itutuloy or hindi itutuloy,” he said.

“Because yung promise po ng K to 12 is that when our learners graduate after Grade 12 they are employable pero hindi po nangyayari ‘yan sa ngayon,” he added.

According to Poa, the direction of the Senior High School program is to align the taught skills, especially technical and vocational, based on the needs of the industry.

In a statement, Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT)-Philippines spokesperson Ruby Bernardo said that the non-stop teaching of public school teachers for six hours per day is inhumane.

According to Bernardo, some teachers are required to complete other work and exceed six hours per day.

Bernardo also appealed to DepEd to give public school teachers enough time to prepare their lessons, check outputs, compute students’ grades and monitor their students’ progress. to deliver quality education.

“It is equivalent to 6 to 9 classes handled daily for 40 minutes to one hour class time, depending on the subject taught. Dapat i-konsidera rin na ang mga klaseng ito ay bumibilang mula 45 hanggang 60 estudyante o higit pa,” said Bernardo.

According to the Magna Carta for School Teachers, teaching hours should be six hours per day.

DepEd first said that they are working on ways to reduce the work of teachers, including reducing or completely removing them from administrative and special tasks of teachers.
