Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have arrested a former policeman for his alleged involvement in the abduction of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) officials.
According to P / Major Ronaldo Lumactod, AKG Spokesperson, PO3 Allan Formilleza, a former police officer, was arrested at his home in a subdivision in Brgy. Caypombo, Sta. Maria, Bulacan yesterday.
Formilleza has a standing warrant of arrest for murder, estafa, and theft charges. He was also a member of the ‘Gapos Gang’ which target BIR officials in Metro Manila and Central Luzon.
Formilleza’s modus was to enter the house of their target, which is usually a BIR official, steal his their properties or abduct them, and ask the victims’ family for ransom.
Investigation revealed that the ex-police had been assigned to QCPD Station 6 before he was sacked after going AWOL.
In August last year, a member of the large kidnap for ransom group who was also involved in the kidnapping of BIR officials was killed after a police encounter in Marilao, Bulacan.

Barangay in Malabon placed under special concern lockdown
Some parts of Sitio 6 in Brgy. Catmon, Malabon, was placed under special concern lockdown starting today until June 21.
Brgy. Captain Brian Manapat asked Malabon City Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (MCTF-MEID) to put some areas of Sitio 6 under lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the area.
Based on recommendations of health, social welfare, security, and economic clusters, the Task Force advised Mayor Lenlen Oreta to submit parts of Sitio 6 to the special concern lockdown for five days.
Under the special concern lockdown, all residents of the area will be prohibited from leaving their homes.
Food would be given to the homes of the affected residents, while the PNP will assist the village guards in maintaining the total home quarantine in the area.
Meanwhile, the lockdown on H. Monroy Street in Barangay Navotas West in Navotas City is extended.
According to the City Health Office’s report, 96 underwent a rapid COVID-19 test in the area where 49 individuals or 51 percent tested reactive or positive.
