Cop shoots dead mother and son in Paniqui, Tarlac

A police officer shot dead his mother and son neighbors in Paniqui, Tarlac, during an altercation on Sunday, December 20.

The victims were identified as Sonia Rufino Gregorio, 52, and her son Frank Anthony Gregorio, 25, and residents of Purok 2, Brgy. Cabayaoasan in Paniqui, Tarlac.

The suspect was identified as Senior Master Sergeant Junel Nuesca, a member of the crime laboratory SOCO.

Nuesca fled the scene onboard a motorcycle but surrendered on Monday morning.

The crime was caught on video and has now become viral. The video showed the victims and the suspect having a heated discussion.

In the four-minute video, the relatives of both parties were trying to calm the victims and suspects. Nuesca has not been saying much during the discussion but was seen holding something on his waist and was keeping his distance close to the victims.

A female, who was also taking a video of the incident, then shouted and said that his father was a policeman. She was then identified as the suspect’s daughter.

Sonia then answered back sarcastically and said, “I don’t care eh-eh-eh,” mocking her through a Korean song “I Don’t Care.”

Nuesca then said, “P****g i** ka! Gusto mo tapusin na kita ngayon? (You son of a b***! You want me to finish you now?) and without a word shot the mother in the head, then her son.

The victims instantly fell on the ground, but the police again shot the mother before fleeing the scene.

According to initial police investigations, the suspect and the victims have had many arguments in the past. It was told that the mother and son would frequently disrespect the police officer, and there was also an angle of land disputes.

Nuesca is now under the custody of the police.
