Tragically, a baby girl lost her head while being born in an infirmary in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental. The child’s head was left in the mother’s womb.
Adrian Prieto told GMA Regional TV News on Monday that Nereza Tarig, 25, of Barangay Payao, was only seven months pregnant when her stomach suddenly hurt.
Her husband, John Rommel, 25, took Nereza to the infirmary to check the baby’s condition.
Upon questioning by the doctor and infirmary staff, it was found that the baby’s position was reversed. But the woman was told that she could still deliver the baby with normal delivery.
Because Nereza’s stomach ache continued, the doctor allegedly told her to give birth to the baby. This is allegedly contrary to the lady’s request to refer her to the hospital.
And when she gave birth to the child, Nereza was reportedly surprised when the child’s body came out, but the head was cut off.
Nereza was rushed to the district hospital in Kabankalan City to get the child’s head inside the mother’s womb.
The couple believes that even though their child is premature, she allegedly had a heartbeat when the woman tried to give birth.

Nereza has returned home and is recovering, but they want her husband to be given clarity and justice for what happened to their son.
They believe the infirmary was negligent in what happened.
In 2021, a similar incident occurred in Abra Provincial Hospital. According to the infant’s mother, the staff who assisted her said her baby died but did not say what really happened to the child.
The hospital did not tell to the family that the baby was decapitated. They only found it when they arrived home.
The hospital said they are ready to answer any complaints against them. An investigation is being conducted on the incident, and a doctor has already given a statement.
According to the hospital’s officials, the infant died inside the mother’s womb, so they had to remove it to save the mother’s life.
