This means that Emma, Norman, and Ray, who are shown to be 11 years olds in the series, were born in 2034. The rest of the orphans in the house were born after them, in the late 2030s and some in 2040!

This future timeline of the series adds an other-worldly charm to the series, with a lot of interesting elements and incidents to note.

Emma Is the Main Protagonist of the Series

The series revolves around the 3 orphans Emma, Norman, and Ray, and some other inhabitants of the house. However, as the series progresses, one can easily make out that Emma established herself as the main protagonist of the series.

She, in fact, is the heart and soul of The Promised Neverland. Now it is not common to see a female protagonist in a Japanese Manga series.

However, the creator of the series Kaiu Shirai says that they made Emma the protagonist to bring out the interesting mother-daughter bond that she shares with the house’s caretaker Isabella.

No doubt, this creative genius added a lot of meat to the series and made it even more interesting.

Emma’s Horoscope

Emma’s horoscope is shown to be Leo. Well, this little piece of information makes a lot of sense and can make for a pretty enticing observation throughout the series. Associating the sign of Leo with Emma seems to be intentional!

The makers have made sure to depict in the character of Emma all the qualities and traits that are typically associated with a Leo.

She is a remarkable leader, is creative, confident, resilient, and absolutely compassionate – all that a Leo is! Co-incidental or intentional, what do you make of it?!

The Relationship of Norman & Emma

The relationship that brews between Emma and Norman makes for a very interesting underlying theme of the series, which acts as a hook till the end. There are enough instances in the series that indicate how much Norman likes Emma.

He supports her in all her missions, and never fails to give her courage and confidence. In fact, while Emma’s dream is to ride a giraffe, Norman only dreams of a future where he can be with her! And guess what, in the end, the two of them do unite!

Multiple Adaptations of the Manga Series

The Promised Neverland has been such a hit that it is no more just another Japanese Manga Series. As we mentioned, the series has been adapted into an anime in 2019.

However, going a step further, now a live-action film, as well as a TV series themed on the Manga, is in the production stage.

These new adaptations, no doubt, are going to enhance the charm of the series even further. Watching them is going to be a treat for all The Promised Neverland fans!
