The Social Weather Survey of April 19-27, 2022, the most recent quarterly national survey finalized by SWS, found 78% of adult Filipinos satisfied, 9% undecided, and 13% dissatisfied with the performance of Rodrigo R. Duterte as President.
Compared to December 2021, gross satisfaction with President Duterte rose by 3 points from 75%, gross undecided stayed at 9%, and gross dissatisfaction fell by 2 points from 15%.
The resulting net satisfaction rating is +65 (% satisfied minus % dissatisfied), classified by SWS as very good.
This is 5 points above the very good +60 in December 2021 and the +60 average for 2021.
Very good in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, and the Visayas; Excellent in Mindanao
The 5-point rise in President Duterte’s overall net satisfaction rating from December 2021 to April 2022 was due to increases in all areas.
President Duterte’s net satisfaction stayed very good in Metro Manila, up by 2 points from +61 to +63.
It also stayed very good in Balance Luzon, up by 4 points from +56 to +60.
It rose from good to very good in the Visayas, up by 10 points from +45 to +55.
It stayed excellent in Mindanao, up by 3 points from +80 to +83.
Very good in both urban and rural areas
Urban net satisfaction with President Duterte stayed at very good +64 from December 2021 to April 2022 [Chart 3, Table 4].
Rural net satisfaction stayed very good, up by 9 points from +56 to +65.
SWS: Duterte ends term with ‘very good’ satisfaction rating
Very good among both men and women
President Duterte’s net satisfaction rating stayed very good among men, up by 3 points from +62 to +65.
It also stayed very good among women, up by 5 points from +59 to +64.
Excellent among the 18-24-year-olds, Very good among those 25 years old and above
The President’s net satisfaction rating rose from very good to excellent among the 18-24-year-olds, up by 2 points from +68 to +70.
It stayed very good among the 25-34-year-olds, up by 4 points from +64 to +68.
It stayed very good among the 35-44-year-olds, up by 2 points from +66 to +68.
It also stayed very good among the 45-54-year-olds, hardly moving from +62 to +61.
It rose from good to very good among those 55 years old and older, up by 10 points from +49 to +59.
