One of the suspects has spoken about what allegedly happened to the victim, Jovelyn Galleno, who was first reported missing inside a mall in Puerto Princesa, Palawan recently.
In a report by Radyo Bandera Philippines of Puerto Princesa, the suspect was identified as Leobert Dasmariñas and pointed to his partner in crime, Jovert Valdestamon, who was said to have just been released from jail, according to the former. They are said to be first cousins of Jovelyn.
Dasmariñas told Radyo Bandera, he and Valdestamon planned the crime against the girl. That’s why they really looked forward to her coming home on August 5. When the girl got off a multicab, they allegedly followed her while Valdestamon was waiting ahead.
According to him, when he was sure there was no one around, he immediately signaled the accomplice with a lighter, and that’s when Valdestamon pulled the girl and took her to the grassy area. He said he was a bit far from the two, but he saw his female cousin struggling when she covered her face.
It is said that Jovelyn was already weak while being pulled by the suspect. Moreover, he was already carrying her limply. He said he saw the suspect undressing the girl even though he was far away.

It is said that after Valdestamon raped Jovelyn Galleno, the suspect signaled him to come to the incident scene. There he saw that the girl was no longer alive.
Dasmariñas admitted that after the crime, he went home to their house but did not immediately report it to anyone because he was afraid of Valdestamon because he was said to be newly released.
He insisted that he didn’t do anything to Jovelyn Galleno. He was just a lookout for Valdestamon. He said that he was just scared because of what he might do to him.
Meanwhile, in the report of Radio Bandera, Dasmariñas allegedly pointed to the place where Jovelyn’s body was left. When the authorities went there, they found the alleged skull and skeleton of the victim.
The girl’s alleged dead body will be examined to see if it is her or not.
