Authorities found a corpse inside a box in Padre Faura Street beside Paco Park in Manila, Wednesday morning.
The body of the man suspected of being the victim of the summary execution was forcibly packed in the small box.
A concerned citizen reported the incident to the authorities.
Officers of the Explosive Ordnance Division of the Manila Police District first responded to the crime scene because they thought it was a bomb.
They were shocked when they discovered a man’s dead body after they opened the box.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives is currently processing the crime scene.
Authorities temporarily closed the said street from motorists as they continue to investigate the crime.
The Paco Park is a recreational garden and was once Manila’s municipal cemetery built by the Dominicans during the Spanish colonial period.

Summary execution or popularly known as “salvage” in the Philippines is an execution in which a person is accused of a crime and immediately killed without benefit of a full and fair trial.
