A woman in Cavite immediately reported to the authorities when she found out that the canned goods sent to her by her foreign boyfriend in Belgium contained illegal drugs. The two only met on the internet.
In a report by Ian Cruz on GMA News “24 Oras” this Monday, it was said that the woman found out that more than 6,000 ecstasy pills were in the shipment with a value of P10.5 million.
According to the woman, she was sent the parcel after a few months of talking with her boyfriend.
Since she immediately informed the barangay hall about the incident, Barzaga said that the incident was immediately reported to the authorities. She would not have to face a complaint.

The congressman gave a warning about online dating.
“They have to properly scrutinize, tingnan nila ang background at tingnan nila kung talagang maayos ang intensyon sa kanila,” he added.
According to BI, unsuspecting victims usually meet the syndicate members online, who would woo them with small gifts, promises of international travel, and marriage. The fake foreign national will then claim to fly to the Philippines to meet and marry the victim.
