SWS: 23% of Filipinos believe gov’t report on COVID-19 positives ‘probably right’

Results of a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed that only 23 percent of Filipinos believed that the government’s report on positive COVID-19 cases is “probably right.”

The survey also showed that 31% of Pinoys believe that positive COVID-19 cases are “probably under-reported” by the government, while 39% believe it is “probably over-reported.” The poll was conducted from September 17 to 20.

SWS said the figures showed that Filipinos have “mixed opinions” regarding the accuracy of positive COVID-19 cases reporting done by the government.

Meanwhile, there is also no consensus on the accuracy of the number of Covid-19 deaths reported by the government: 34% say it is probably over-reported, 27% say it is probably right, and 34% say it is probably under-reported.

The SWS survey also showed that the reported number of COVID-19 positives is least accurate in Metro Manila.
