Navotas to open 2,000 walk-in vaccination slots

According to the local government, more than 2,000 walk-in vaccination slots will open in Navotas City this Tuesday.

It will start at 1 to 3 pm, according to the city government, at the following vaccination sites where Sinovac vaccines are available:

  • Daanghari Elementary School
  • Kaunlaran High School
  • Navotas fish port complex
  • San Jose Academy
  • Tansa Elementary School
  • Tangos National High School
  • Tumaana Health Center

Vacinees need to bring an ID or valid document proving they are residents or working in the city of Navotas.

Pfizer is scheduled to be vaccinated at Navotas City Hospital, where walk-ins are prohibited.

Nearly 100,000 have already been vaccinated in the city, according to the local government.

Meanwhile, at Caloocan Central Elementary School, residents lined up early because 500 slots were limited, of which 100 were reserved for seniors.

Residents have to present an ID and certificate of indigency from their barangay. Vaccination will begin at 8 a.m., Tuesday.

According to data from the government, more than 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been injected in the Philippines.

More than 2.5 million individuals have been fully vaccinated or received 2 doses, while more than 7.5 million have been injected with the first dose.

According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, vaccination against COVID-19 is accelerating in the Philippines, now averaging 250,000 doses per day.

If it took 3 months before the first 5 million doses were given, the second 5 million were injected even before the end of the current month. Vaccination against COVID-19 began on March 1 in the Philippines.

According to the NTF, as long as all the COVID-19 vaccine doses purchased by the government arrive in the country this year, they are confident that up to 70 million individuals can be vaccinated before the end of 2021 to achieve herd immunity.

The government is said to be targeting 10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses in July.

Meanwhile, Fr. Nicanor Austriaco, a member of , said he is confident that herd immunity will be achieved with NCR Plus 8 even though only 2.25 million or 3.87% of the population were  on June 22. It was also learned that 8.9 million doses of the vaccine were distributed by the government.
