A French Renaissance-style mansion was christened ‘Calle Padre Faura’. It was designed by the son of Juan Luna, one of the Philippine’s most famous painters.

The mansion was built by Alfonzo Zobel de Ayala Roxas along with his wife. Alfonso is the son of Don Enrique Zobel y de Ayala, the father of the modern day Ayala Corporation.
The stunning home survived WWII, but the owners sold the home to recover from the financial loss brought on by the the conflict.
In post-war times, the mansion was occupied by the French Embassy. In the 1960s it was sold to the Bank of Asia and later was home to several upscale antique shops.

The building was destroyed in the 1990s, giving way to the 1322 Golden Empire Tower.
