Authorities seized P2.7 million worth of suspected shabu from two minor students in Barangay Tangos, Navotas City.

In the report, two students, one male, and one female, were aged 16 and 14.

Police confiscated 404 grams of shabu packed inside plastic for making ice from the students.

The law enforcers were conducting operations against suspected drug personalities in the area when they encountered the two minors.

Meanwhile, police seized P4.6 million worth of shabu from a 23-year-old suspect in Caloocan.

Authorities identified the suspect as Omair Sultan, resident of barangay Tala, Caloocan City.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency statistics of 2014 recorded 40% of minors arrested for drug possession, and drug syndicates use children as drug pushers. Children arrested for drug possession or use are brought to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in compliance with Republic Act No. 9344 (Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006).

Corpse in a box found beside Paco Park 

Authorities found a body inside a box in Padre Faura Street beside Paco Park in Manila, Wednesday morning.

The body of the man suspected of being the victim of the summary execution was forcibly packed in the small box.

A concerned citizen reported the incident to the authorities.

Officers of the Explosive Ordnance Division of the Manila Police District first responded to the crime scene because they thought it was a bomb.

They were shocked when they discovered a man’s dead body after they opened the box.

Authorities temporarily closed the said street from motorists as they continue to investigate the crime.
