SEA Games 2019 blames budget delays for #SEAGamesfail

Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Ramon Fernandez said the budget delays are to blame for the SEA Games 2019 #SEAGamesfail, Tuesday.

Fernandez insisted that the glitches and delays could not be avoided in big events like the 30th SEA Games.

The commissioner explained that the budget for the sports venue renovation for the SEA Games was only released in August. That is the only time that the restoration began as the case of the Rizal Stadium, for example.

Even 1-Pacman Party List Rep. Mikee Romero, who is also a participant in the SEA Games, also said that the delay in passing the budget should be to blame for the #SEAGamesfail and not the organizers of the 30th South East Asian Games.

Romero said the budget delays for the SEA Games lasted five to six months in the senate.

If the budget were approved in January, problems such as the reported logistics and hotel coordination would have been avoided.

The organizers also first apologized and assured the public that they would do everything possible to make the game a success.

At the same time, the PSC calls for unity because the Philippines’ reputation depends on it.
