Residents fought demolition team in Sta. Rosa, Laguna

Residents forcibly blocked the demolition team that went to Barangay Sto. Sunday in Sta. Rosa, Laguna because it is said that the demolition of their houses will be illegal.

In a report by JP Soriano on GMA News “24 Oras” on Thursday, the residents and demolition team will be able to see the discussion and discussion on Wednesday.

But despite the residents’ restraint, the demolition of their houses continued.

The homeless begged not to demolish their houses because they have nowhere to go, especially now that there is a pandemic.

The demolition was also said to be illegal and sudden.

According to Undersecretary Meynard Sabili of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development, the sheriff who ordered the demolition could not show any paperwork from the court.

Sheriff Ronnie Paloyo denied this and said the demolition was not sudden.

He said he gave five days’ notice to vacate to the residents.

City Urban Development Housing said each family affected by the demolition would receive more than P21,000 in assistance.

2 traffic enforcers dead after being shot near Bulacan

Two traffic enforcers died on the sidewalk after they were shot at close range in Meycauayan, Bulacan.

In a report by James Agustin on GTV “Balitanghali” on Thursday, the victims were identified as Manny Alcanar and Danilo Nuñez.

The police investigation revealed that the victims were snacking in Barangay Calbario when the suspects approached and shot them.

The two victims were immediately taken to the hospital, but Alcanar died on arrival, while Nuñez later died.

Authorities suspect their work may have been crime-related.

The social media post that threatened Alcanar’s life will also be investigated.

Meanwhile, police have located the residence of the victim couple on Broadway Ave. in Brgy. Mariana,  this Wednesday.

Based on the address on the victims’ IDs, they live in Caloocan.

According to the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) spot report, the woman’s father identified the body, so they took a statement, and the investigation began.
