There is a long line at a mall in Ermita in this city this Tuesday for the first day of vaccination of the A4 category or economic frontliners.

But vaccines are still limited to the four malls that have been turned into vaccination sites.

Even though the number of doses for vaccination today is only 750, the queue of those who want to be vaccinated continues to grow.

According to Mayor Isko Moreno, all 18 years old and above A4 are in the vaccination process.

Manila city system requires you to register first but does not state what time you will arrive or where the vaccination site is.

The vaccinee himself, as long as he is registered and given a QR code, can be vaccinated at any vaccination site as long as he is in the A4 category.

In Caloocan, Mayor Oca Malapitan announced that city residents in the A4 category can now be vaccinated on their official social media accounts.

At Maria Clara High School, one of the city’s vaccination sites, many A4 category students have patiently lined up.

Only 400 people can be vaccinated at the school for the initial dose of Sinovac, while more than 200 people are also scheduled for the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday experts would study China’s approval on the emergency use of Sinovac Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine for children aged three to 17.

“Magandang balita ‘yan, kung talagang makikita natin na ‘yun talagang pag-aaral ay may accuracy at saka makikita natin na ‘yung basis nila at ‘yung ebidensya nila ay maganda, maganda itong balita hindi lang para sa Pilipinas kung hindi para sa buong mundo,” DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire told reporters.

“Tayo ay laging bukas sa ganitong makabago saka innovative na ginagawa para maexpand natin ang coverage ng ating pagbabakuna. Pagka nabuo na nila ang mga ebidensya at nakumpleto na nila ‘yung mga trial at nagsumite sila dito sa Pilipinas ng revision ng kanilang emergency use authority, pag-aaralan po ‘yan ng ating mga eksperto,” she added.
