ISIS liaison dead in Sulu encounter

ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) liaison was killed after government troops, and the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) collided in Sulu on Friday morning.

In a released statement, the Joint Task Force Sulu of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said the encounter occurred between the 1st Scout Ranger Battalion and a terrorist group in Barangay Tanim in Patikul.

The deceased ISIS liaison in Sulu was identified as Talha Jumsah or alias “Abu Talha.”

According to AFP, Abu Talha is considered a high-value target.

The military further said that Abu Talha was also an expert in creating improvised explosive devices and also served as an instructor in the ASG.

The 1101st Infantry Brigade recovered Abu Talha’s body on Saturday morning.

According to 1101st Brigade Commander Brid. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, the ASG’s morale has certainly dropped following Abu Talha’s death.

He said the operation would not have been possible without the help of the Tausug community, who reported to the military about the presence of the armed group.

A 15-year-old boy who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl he met on social media has been arrested on Friday in Cebu City.

According to an initial report by Minglanilla Police, the victim under the name “Jenny” went to their station with her brother-in-law to file a rape complaint against the 15-year-old suspect.

In Jenny’s testimony, she and the minor suspect became friends on Facebook on November 13 until they became a couple because of the continuous exchange of chats in FB Messenger. They decided to meet this November 15, personally.

Jenny said the 15-year-old boy brought her to his house at Barangay Poblacion, Ward II, Minglanilla, and it was there that the 17-year-old girl was raped.

The victim told her relatives about the incident. They immediately sought help from the police, and Jenny pointed out the area where she was raped.

In a follow-up operation by the police, the young suspect was arrested at their home and is now in custody.

A 19-year-old teenager was gang-raped by the five arrested suspects, including a 16-year-old boy last night in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.

The victim was able to escape while the suspects were asleep. She immediately informed the police, which resulted in the suspects’ quick arrest.

Glenda allegedly knows the suspects, so she trusted and had a drinking session with them.

Eight soldiers were injured after an encounter with 40 members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Patikul, Sulu.

According to a Western Mindanao Command statement, the clash broke out between the Joint Task Force Sulu and Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan’s group and Radullan Sahiron on Thursday.

It is not known how many casualties the Abu Sayyaf Group had because of the encounter with the military in Sulu.

The wounded soldiers are being treated at Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital in Busbus, Sulu.

WesMinCom Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana saluted the soldiers for their dedication to ensuring the security of the country.

“I salute our gallant soldiers for their bravery and utmost dedication to their sworn duty,” said Sobejana.

Sobejana assured the public that the military would continue to strengthen its operation against terrorists in Sulu and other provinces under WesMinCom‘s control.

Gay public school teacher stabbed to death in Catanduanes

A 28-year-old public school teacher whose also a member of the LGBTQ community was stabbed to death inside his room in Virac, Catanduanes, Sunday.

Donn Carlos Borja Bagadiong, a teacher at Catanduanes National High School, was found bathing in his own blood, with deep wounds to his face and various other parts of the body.

According to a report by Catanduanes Police, the body of the victim was found on the second floor of his home in Brgy. Valencia, Virac, at around 4:14 pm on Sunday.

Police recovered a butcher knife with a bloodstain not far from the victim’s body, which is believed the unidentified suspects in brutally killing the victim.

Meanwhile, Police Col Raul Florendo, Provincial Director of the Catanduanes Police, ordered immediately to investigate the crime to arrest the culprit.

Authorities believed the teacher personally knew the suspect. They also look at robbery as possible motives behind the crime.

With this, the Catanduanes provincial government has offered a P100,000 reward for anyone who can provide information to arrest the suspect and resolve the crime.

According to an exclusive report from John Consulta on Unang Balita, the National Bureau of Investigation Cybercrime Division personnel raided the fifth floor of a building in Makati City, where the group’s operations were taking place.

Around 50 Filipinos were caught in the act at their work stations. The arrested suspects were allegedly the cybersex operation’s technical support team.

The NBI agents discovered the software the group was using and links to live sex cam in other countries.

“Aalukin na nila ito kung gusto nila mag-avail ng service. Bibigyan sila ng links kung saan, sino yung panonooring hubad na models,” said Francis Señora, special agent of NBI Cybercrime Division.

(They will offer a customer if he or she wants to avail of the service. Then, customers will be given a link where they can watch nude models.)

The arrested suspects refused to provide any statement concerning their arrest.

The NBI confiscated all of the computers of the arrested Filipinos working in international cybersex syndicate. These will be used as evidence in violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act case to be filed against them.
