Clarin, Misamis Occidental mayor, arrested for punching masseur
Before the Misamis Mayor David Navarro was killed in an ambush, Cebu City first arrested him for allegedly assaulting a masseur yesterday.
On CCTV footage, Mayor Navarro and two other men are seen following John Dueñas. As they approached, Navarro suddenly punched Dueñas in the chest.
Navarro forcefully placed the masseur’s hand behind him and hit him with his knees.
According to police, the mayor took his anger at Dueñas because no masseuse was available at the health spa.
In addition to the physical injury complaint, another masseuse accused Mayor Navarro of asking her to perform lewd acts.
The mayor requested to be placed in hospital arrest after his pressure was spiked, but his request has been denied.
Navarro was one of the politicians included in President Rodrigo Duterte’s “narco-list” in 2016, the Philippine News Agency said.
