According to Forbes, the unified welterweight champion is in a severe condition but expected to survive his injuries.

“His injuries are not life-threatening. His parents are with him at the hospital,” Tim Smith, a spokesman for Spence’s promoter, Premier Boxing Champions, told the Associated Press.

According to reports of the Dallas police department, Errol Spence Jr. was driving a white Ferrari “at a high rate of speed” on South Riverfront Boulevard just before 3 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. The Ferrari veered left, jumped the median into the lane traveling the opposite direction, and flipped multiple times before ejecting Spence.

Errol Spence Jr. was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.

Spencer recently defeated Manny Pacquiao’s former training partner, Shawn Porter, in a split decision last month at Los Angeles. Porter tweeted his support to the injured former foe.

“My dad always tells me ‘this boxing thing is a part of your life but it’s not going to last forever. U still have a lot of life to live after that.’ With that, I’m praying for @ErrolSpenceJr & his family because he has a lot of life to live and I pray he recovers quickly & fully,” Ported said on his post.
