“Accordingly, para itong lumalabas na crime of passion, na love triangle po ‘yong motibo ng krimen kasi po ‘yung suspek mayroon po siyang former live-in partner na ‘yun naman ngayon ang live-in partner ng victim,” said Police Capt. Churchill Pablo Angog Jr., chief of the New Bataan Police.

(Accordingly, it looks like it turns out to be a crime of passion, a love triangle is a motive for the crime because the suspect has a former live-in partner who is now the victim’s live-in partner.)

ABS-CBN continues franchise signature campaign

The signatures of the People’s Initiative for Reforms and Movement for Action (Pirma) Kapamilya, which aims to give the franchise to ABS-CBN, continue to grow.

The group, which consists of citizen volunteers, wants to pass the franchise network through the people’s initiative. This means that they have to collect 7 million signatures of registered voters who wish to bring ABS-CBN back on the air.

“We are cognizant na talagang urgent ito dahil mayroon tayong mga kababayan at Kapamilya na nawalan ng trabaho,” said lawyer Mike Tiu, co-convenor of Pirma Kapamilya.

“Mayroon tayong mga kababayan na nangangailangan ng impormasyon at para sa marami sa kanila, ang ABS-CBN ang kanilang source of news and information at isa ito sa may pinakamalawak na reach dito sa Pilipinas,” he added.

The 1987 Constitution and Republic Act 6735 or The Initiative and Referendum Act stipulates that 3 percent of registered voters in each legislative district and 10 percent of the total number of registered voters in the country must sign.
