This might not be the largest copper mine in the world, but it is 850 meters deep, and that makes it one of the deepest. It is an open-pit mine that can be found in Chili, and it is the largest copper mine by excavated volume. It is also the mine with the largest total copper production in the world. This mine was opened in 1882, and because of the mine, many inhabitants had to move to nearby cities.
