A husband smashed and killed his wife with a hammer at their own home in Tondo, Manila, Monday night.

The victim was identified as Connie Capulong, an employee of Manila City Hall.

Authorities now in search of the victim’s husband, Eric who did the crime out of jealousy according to the neighbors who heard the couple fighting.

Capulong’s neighbor, Estela Balasabas, said she heard the couple arguing at 10:30 p.m. on Monday.

“Naririnig ko ‘yung away nila sabi ni Connie ‘Wala akong lalaki’ nagmumura siya,” said Balasabas.

(I heard their fight where Connie said ‘I don’t have another man’ she was cursing.)

In the early hours of Tuesday, the suspect was seen in the TV escaping their house and carrying their 5-year-old and 2-year-old children. Eric brought the children to his brother.

When Eric’s brother learned of the incident, he immediately returned to the couple’s home, according to Police Lt. Col. Carlo Manuel, Public Information Officer of the Manila Police District.

There he saw the victim’s body lying on the bed and full of blood. The victim’s head was also crushed.

Investigators found the murder weapon, a bloody hammer in the sink of the suspect’s home.

An MPD investigation revealed that the victim tried to break up with the suspect before the crime occurred.

According to Connie’s workmates, the victim tells them that the suspect is always jealous.

“Minsan pumupunta yung asawa sinisilip na lang bigla si Connie, nagugulat kami,” according to an employee.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno will give a P100,000 reward to anyone who can locate the suspect.

The Manila Police continue its operations against Eric, who was last seen heading to Recto.
