Family of drug pushers arrested in Makati

Police arrested a family of drug pushers or drug traffickers in Barangay Pitogo, Makati City, Thursday.

Authorities arrested four members of the family: the father, mother, son, and uncle inside their home in Barangay Pitogo. Police seized 54 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P26,000 from the suspects.

According to Makati City police chief Rogelio Simon, they are targeting the family’s son, a certain alias Pidoy who escaped the operation.

“Nakakapanghinayang din [na] lahat sila naging miyembro na ng ilegal na negosyo… Ang role ng nanay at tatay [ay] dapat ituwid ang landas ng mga anak nila,” Simon said.

(It is also regrettable that all of their family members are in the illegal business… The role of mother and father [is] to correct the path of their children.)

The parents denied the allegation and said the police planted the illegal drugs.

“Willing ako magpa-drug test,” said the head of the family.

(I am willing to do drug test.)

The parents said their son Pidoy was selling illegal drugs but Pidoy was long gone home.

The other arrested son was angry at the police because for him, selling is different from using illegal drugs.

“Matakot kayo sa karma… May panginoon naman eh,” he said.

(Be afraid of karma…There is God.)

The uncle complained because the police allegedly took the money he saved.

“May pera po ako na P39,000. Ipon ko po ‘yon,” the uncle said.

(I have P39,000. That’s my savings.)

The family of drug pushers will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
