Maricar Rabutazo, the mother of the student in Laguna who died of hazing, said only evil people could do such brutality on his son.
“Hirap na hirap siya sa nangyari. Pinaso ninyo, lagas ang ngipin, may damage ang ulo. Brutal na brutal. Demonyo ang gumawa,” Rabutazo said on Ian Cruz’s report on “24 Oras.”
Raymart or “RR,” Maricar’s son, was allegedly beaten to death on Sunday during initiation ceremonies of a fraternity group in an area in Barangay San Juan in Laguna.
Four “persons of interest” have been taken into custody, according to the local police. Two of them were reached by GMA News, but both refused to offer a statement. They also declined to say whether or not they were Tau Gamma members.
“May mga lumulutang na rin na mga testigo na nagbibigay na rin ng salaysay. Ito’y kukunin namin para makapag establish ng lead ang kapulisan para maimbestigahan pa lalo ang kaso,” Police Lieutenant Erico Bestid said.
According to the victim’s parents, RR informed his granny that he would leave at 5 a.m. on Sunday. However, he didn’t say who his companions were or where he was going. Later that afternoon, the family received word that he had died while being transported to the hospital.

Family of hazing victim in Laguna cries for help
According to the initial inquiry, the man had multiple injuries throughout his body, including the skull. He also had burns on his chest, and the blows caused several of his teeth to fall out.
“Hindi naman makatao yung ginawa nila eh. ‘Yung frat ninyong sinasabi hindi naman kapatiran. Tingnan nyo nangyari sa anak namin nagsosolo. Inalisan nyo pa ng karapatang mabuhay nang malaya. Ang daming pangarap noong bata. Pangarap naming mag-asawa para sa bata. Ano ginawa ninyo? Winala ninyo,” said the hazing victim’s father, Remil Rabutazo.
“Nakikiusap ako sa inyo mga brad, tulungan nyo si RR. Wag na kayo magtakipan. ‘Yun lang po ang gusto ko, may hustisya sa anak ko,” Maricar added.
