Aika Robredo, Vice President Leni Robredo’s daughter, has formally requested the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) aid in investigating the proliferation of her phony films floating online.
Robredo’s team stated on Thursday that a letter was issued to the NBI requesting assistance.
“The past few days have seen a sudden surge of uploads and posts in various blogs, porn sites, and social media platforms that mislead the public and give the impression that our client has videos or photos allegedly showing her in a scandalous pose or act,” the letter read.
It went on to say that using Robredo’s name to attract the general people to click on these links puts her in jeopardy and exposes her to abuse and harassment.
“We are filing this not just for Aika, but for all those who could be victimized by these online predators. We will not stop until the perpetrators of this atrocious act are behind bars,” Atty. Pingki Bartolome, co-counsel of Aika Robredo, said.
Robredo thought that using NBI’s tools and technology, the source and person(s) involved might be located and appropriate charges filed.
The Vice President has previously claimed that the smear campaign against her daughter Aika was orchestrated by the movement of fellow presidential contender and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

However, Vic Rodriguez, a spokesperson for Marcos Jr., disputed the accusation.
Earlier, the Philippine National Police (PNP) called on the family of Vice President Leni Robredo to first file a complaint with the police before starting the investigation into the alleged sex video of Aika Robredo.
PNP-Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) spokesperson Lt. Michelle Sabino is not the first time they have received a complaint related to cybercrime.
He said this would be the basis of their investigation to identify and trace the person behind the spread video.
He said they recently helped presidential bet Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to determine the alleged mastermind of the assassination plot against him.
