“Hindi namin alam na menor de-edad ang dalagita,” said Dacer when asked by the authorities.

Maglaque insisted that the girl go to Quezon alone and was picked up at the bus terminal in Lucena.

Yun po ang pagkakamali ko,” the 28-year-old man explained.

According to the suspect, he first saw the girl on Holy Tuesday after a month of conversation. He also said that they had consensual sex.

The girl’s mother said, “Alam mo yung anak ko 11 years old na walang kalaban-laban.

Police said Maglaque and Dacer would be charged with statutory rape and child abuse.

“In the case of statutory rape, kahit may consent pa doon sa minor it is still considered as rape since minor ang ating biktima,” explained Barot.
