5 arrested for raping minor in Davao City

Five men were arrested over the alleged rape of a 15-year-old on the morning of February 17 in Barangay Daliao in Davao City.

The victim, alias Mae, went to the Toril Police Station with her brother to file a complaint against the five men.

According to police, the victim attended her friend’s birthday party on February 16, and she was with the suspects at a drinking party.

They allegedly moved into the house of one of the suspects, but the victim was forced into the house and the rape took place there.

According to the police report, the victim did not shout and fight due to fear of the suspects.

The five suspects have already been charged with violating Republic Act 8353 or Anti-Rape Law of 1997.

The victim was subjected to a medico-legal examination at the Southern Philippines Medical Center and is awaiting the results.


Bodyguard of mayor in Davao del Sur shot dead

A 38-year-old bodyguard was shot dead in Santa Cruz town, Davao del Sur Sunday afternoon.

According to authorities, Jerwel Alpeche Elentorio visited his family in Passig Islet, Purok Sampaguita in Brgy. Bato. He went to the parking area and two armed men on a motorcycle without a plate number suddenly came.

Elentorio was allegedly immediately shot twice by a motorcyclist. The suspects also took the victim’s sling bag.

The victim was rushed to Digos Doctors Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police are still investigating the motive for the crime and identifying those responsible.

The victim is said to be the personal bodyguard of the mayor of Matanao, Davao del Sur.


Over P600-K worth of shabu seized in Davao City

Up to P592,000 worth of suspected  was seized from two men in a buy-bust operation in Jade Valley in Brgy. Sand, Davao City Saturday afternoon.

The suspects were identified as Khozen Villar, 30, and Kirl Bagohin, 34.

Villar is on the list of drug pushers in the area and has long been monitored by the authorities.

He and his friend Bagohin allegedly sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer.

The two allegedly carried two more sachets of illegal drugs. Authorities also recovered two revolvers.

The suspects have been charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
