A child in North Cotabato and another one in Davao del Sur died in a strong magnitude 6.4 earthquake in Mindanao on Wednesday night, October 16.
A seven-year-old girl was killed after a falling wall hit her during an earthquake in Tulunan, North Cotabato.
Tulunan Mayor Reuel Limbungan said the child was from Datu Paglas in Maguindanao. He also said the child was taken to Tulunan hospital, but doctors have declared the victim dead.
“The child was crushed by a collapsed house wall,” said Limbungan.
According to reports, another died in Davao del Sur because of the earthquake in Mindanao.
Limbugan has also canceled classes at all levels in Tulunan.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte also decided to cancel classes at all levels today, but clarified government employees have work to serve the people.
Up to 20 people were injured in the quake in Magsaysay, Davao Del Sur.
Anthony Allada, Magsaysay’s information officer, said the victims were immediately taken to hospital, and many homes were damaged in the quake.
Meanwhile, the Gaisano mall in General Santos was set ablaze following the earthquake.
The Bureau of Fire Protection has raised the alert to level four. Authorities are still investigating if anyone has been left inside the building.
