An empanada seller who was just going to load a cellphone at the store died after being shot in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur. The suspect appeared to be the victim’s brother-in-law.
In a report by Ivy Hernando on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Amianan” on Thursday, the victim was identified as Jovita Baclig, 47, of Barangay Pug-os.
The suspect, Emilio Baclig, was arrested, whom Jovita allegedly mentioned as the culprit before she died.
Apart from this, the child of Jovita also allegedly saw Emilio.
During the police investigation, it appeared that Jovita was going to a store with her child, who was just near their house to load the cellphone.
But while walking, the suspect appeared and shot the victim who sustained six bullet wounds to various parts of the body.
Jovita was rushed to the hospital but also died.
Her child was safe and unharmed.
Aside from the fact that Jovita’s child allegedly saw Emilio, another of the victim’s children also recorded his conversation with his mother. And before her final breath, she mentioned his brother-in-law’s name as the one who killed her.
But Emilio denied the allegation.

He will be subjected to a paraffin test to determine if he fired a gun.
The investigation by the authorities also revealed that the victim and the suspect had a long-standing dispute.
According to police, the Emilio suspects that the victim is accusing them of illegal activities.
It was found out that one of Emilio’s brothers was imprisoned for illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, a body of a newborn baby was found in a shoe box dumped in the trash in Loakan Proper, Baguio City.
In a report on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Amianan” on Thursday, it was said that the umbilical cord of the baby girl was still attached when it was found.
The baby’s body was placed in a cloth box wrapped in a paper bag.
The baby was taken to the hospital but it turned black and had no pulse.
Police investigation and CCTV analysis are ongoing near the scene to find out who the mother was.
