The Department of Health urged those who went to the crowded vaccination sites in Manila, Las Piñas, and Antipolo on Thursday to isolate and start observing themselves for any symptoms of COVID-19.
It will be recalled that vaccine sites in three cities were heavily raided on the eve of the implementation of enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, something the government pointed out in the false dissemination of information that those who do not get vaccinated will not help before putting Manila at the strictest lockdown level.
According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the influx of many who want to get vaccinated in the three mentioned areas is very dangerous.
“Huwag na po nating antayin na lumala pa ang sintomas at huwag na ring antayin na kayo po ay hahanapin pa ng ating local government. Kayo na po mismo ang mag-isolate sa sarili, tawagan niyo po ang barangay niyo na meron kayong nararanasang ganyang mga sintomas,” said Vergeire.
The official admitted that it is a big challenge for LGUs to conduct contact tracing in case of infection in this situation.
He called on those who flooded the vaccination sites to isolate immediately if they feel any symptoms of COVID-19.

Vergeire explained that if there is an infection, it is usually two or five days before the symptoms appear, but it is better to be proactive.
He also said that it is possible that they are asymptomatic or do not feel anything, but those who go can still be infected if they are positive for the virus.
The official also ensured that the notifications to the LGU on vaccination during ECQ were clear.
“Actually nagpalabas na tayo ng mga guidelines saka advisory na for this coming ECQ, and even before ECQ because of the threat of Delta variant, medyo magkakaroon tayo ng scheduling sa ating bakunahan para magkaroon ng organisasyon. Alam kasi natin ang kapasidad ng sites natin para di magkumpol-kumpol ang mga tao,” said Vergeire.
