The Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced the arrest of a Bahraini national wanted for sex crimes in his country.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the captured alien fugitive as 43-year-old Alsendi Waleed Abdulla Hamad, who was arrested on Tuesday in Bgy. San Francisco II, Dasmariñas, Cavite by operatives from the bureau’s fugitive search unit (FSU).
Morente said he issued the mission order for Hamad’s arrest on orders of the Department of Justice (DOJ) who instructed the BI to verify the presence and status here of the said Bahraini national and, if warranted, to initiate deportation proceedings against him.
Morente added that Hamad is the subject of an arrest warrant by the public prosecutor’s office of Bahrain for sexual assault and possession of pornographic materials. Consequently, an Interpol red notice against him was issued two years ago.
“He will be summarily deported as his presence here and record as a sex offender pose a serious threat to our people,” the BI chief said.
Information from the BI revealed that Hamad fled to the Philippines in March 2016 after being accused of sexually assaulting a female victim in his apartment.

The Bahraini is now detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending issuance of the order for his deportation by the bureau’s board of commissioners.
Hamad will also be placed in the immigration blacklist and banned from re-entering the Philippines.
Early this month, Bureau of Immigration (BI) personnel at the BI Angeles Field Office in Pampanga intercepted an Italian man for being a wanted fugitive in his homeland.
BI operatives identified the suspect as Ivaldi Antonello, 51, who was intercepted after attempting to extend his visa at the BI Angeles Field Office.
According to Alien Control Officer Mark Leslie Gonzales, Antonello submitted his passport to extend his tourist visa to the office when BI personnel discovered that he has an active watchlist for being a fugitive from justice.
“He has been in the country since 2019, under a tourist visa,” shared Gonzales. “Once we saw his record, we immediately coordinated with the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) to effect his arrest,” said Gonzales.
