The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Monday it has already determined some personalities linked to the alleged vaccine slots for sale in some cities in Metro Manila.
Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Olay said Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is conducting the investigation,
“May mga impormasyon na tayo at may mga tao na o personalities na na-identify through sa ating backtracking sa mga bagay na ‘yan [We’ve gathered information as well as identities linked to that],” he said.
Olay did not give further details on the investigation, noting it may “preempt” their “movement.”
Last week, PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar ordered the CIDG to investigate after screenshots of the alleged “under the table” vaccine slot for sale went viral on social media.
Some individuals were claiming that they could get vaccination slots in some LGUs for P8,000 to P12,000. The cities of Mandaluyong and San Juan were mentioned in the messages. The mayors of both cities said it was a scam, emphasizing that vaccines in their cities are given for free.

The mayor of Mandaluyong ordered an investigation into the issue where it was reported that COVID-19 vaccines were sold from P10,000 to P15,000.
“Pinaimbestigahan ko na talaga, number 1 sino yan pangalawa sino yung bumibili at sino yung nagbebenta. Kasi sa side namin talagang wala silang masabi na merong nangyayaring ganyan kaya humingi na ako ng tulong sa ating kapulisan,” said Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos.
San Juan has also taken action where there are also reports of the vaccine slots for sale.
“Agad-agad nga natin pinatawagan yung binebentahan ng supposedly San Juan vaccines para makakuha ng impormasyon, ngayon nung sinusubukan namin tawagan yung supposedly seller hindi na rin ma-contact. So malinaw na ito ay isang scam,” said San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora.
Those with information on the alleged vaccine slots for sale are urged to report to the police through “E-Sumbong,” an online system that aims to address citizens’ complaints within their communities quickly.
