On Tuesday, a truck plowed people lined up outside the city hall in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan after its driver allegedly suffered a heart attack.
According to Maj. Julius Alvarong San Jose del Monte police, the city government-owned the truck driven by Herminio Gerona, 57.
Gerona allegedly picked up a city hall employee when he had a heart attack while driving.
The truck allegedly went straight to a tent with selected beneficiaries of the social amelioration program.
The driver was taken to the hospital but died. The victims of the accident are still being treated.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old woman had to have surgery and have her eye removed after being hit by a Bureau of Fire Protection truck in Pateros Sunday night.
At around 8:45 pm, the victim identified as Annie Tiar and her companion Salome Perez was captured on CCTV walking on the sidewalk of M. Almeda Street in Barangay Magtanggol.
Suddenly a fast-moving fire truck hit them.
Tiar had to undergo surgery to remove her eye after the incident.
The fire truck even collided with a stationary black car.
It was seen in the video that the siren of the fire truck is lit.
Police arrested its driver, FO2 Ramon Lactao II, 36, stationed at the Pateros Fire Station.
Drunk man dead after being hit in neck by a bamboo in Capiz
A man died after being struck by bamboo in the neck in Brgy. Linateran, Panay, Capiz, Monday night.
The 36-year-old victim was a resident of the area, according to authorities.
Based on the Panay police investigation, residents in the area only saw the victim lying on the side of a river.
The victim had a wound in the neck and bamboo with bloodstain was also found in the area.
According to authorities, before the victim’s body was found, residents heard the victim was shouting and looking for a fight.
The victim was immediately taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the doctor.
Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating the motive of the crime and identifying the suspect.
