Travel lookout order for Apollo Quiboloy urged

The Department of Justice has received a request to issue an immigration lookout bulletin order for Apollo Quiboloy, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC). This comes in the wake of new allegations of exploitation and sexual abuse against the preacher.

Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros called for issuing an immigration lookout bulletin order on Apollo Quiboloy during a press conference. At the conference, she presented video testimonies from individuals who claimed to have been exploited and sexually abused by the self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God.”

“I urge the Department of Justice to issue an immigration lookout bulletin order, which they can do motu proprio, to prevent Quiboloy from leaving the country. He must not escape accountability. Our children’s lives are at stake,” Hontiveros said.

“Kung si Senior Agila [ng Socorro Bayanihan Services group], naaresto dahil sa tindi ng mga testimonya at ebidensya ng child abuse at human trafficking, naniniwala akong hindi malayong mangyari rin yan kay Quiboloy,” she added.

Senior Agila, also known as Jey Rence Quilario, is the leader of the Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc. in Surigao del Norte. The group is currently under scrutiny amid allegations of sexually abusing over 1,000 children and coercing some into marriages.

Hontiveros conducted a press conference to provide detailed accounts from individuals known as aliases Jackson and Arlene.

Hontiveros presented a screenshot of a conversation suggesting instructions to KOJC members regarding their “solicitation” activities. In the conversation, participants in the group chat were allegedly “encouraged” to use musical instruments in their solicitation efforts. There were also purported warnings about “penalties” for those who failed to comply with the instructions.

“Ngayong taon lang po ang screenshot na ito. This is still happening. This is human trafficking,” she said.

“These are very real fears that they are living with, but I hope that through the filed resolution, and eventual investigation, they will be empowered to tell their truth and seek justice,” the senator added.

Hontiveros filed a resolution on Monday, urging a Senate investigation into the alleged large-scale human trafficking, rape, sexual abuse, violence, and child abuse. She claimed that these activities were carried out “under the cover of a religious organization.”
