Things to prepare for upcoming Metro Manila ECQ

In the face of the threat of the COVID-19 Delta variant and the increase in COVID-19 cases, some experts have shared tips to ensure they are ready for the ECQ in Manila starting August 6.

According to public health expert and former adviser of the National Task Force on COVID-19 response Dr. Tony Leachon, whatever the quarantine status, each family must conduct a “family lockdown” or own lockdown.

He also urged residents to wear face masks and face shields.

“‘Yung pagkakaroon ng family lockdown cumulative ‘yan e. So kung lahat tayo magla-lockdown mame-menos natin ‘yung mga virus na lilipat from one place to another,” said Leachon.

Apart from food, he said, medicines, hygienic protective gear, and vital signs equipment should also be stored, and the doctor’s contact number should also be known.

“Mag-stockpiling ho kayo ng mask, ng alcohol, at saka ng mga hygienic protective gear kasi we don’t know kung ano pwede mangyari kung maaari tumagal pa itong lockdown natin,” said Leachon.

Leachon also advised that the vaccinated family member should be the one to go out to buy essentials during the ECQ.

If you experience any symptoms of COVID-19, you should immediately report it to the Barangay Health Center or a doctor.
