A teenager shot his friend because of jealousy in Tondo, Manila, according to a report by Jonathan Andal in Unang Balita on Thursday.
The teenager survived after the suspect’s gun failed.
CCTV captured the shooting. The video shows how the suspect several times tried to shoot the 19-year-old victim, but the gun did not explode.
“Nagulat na lang po ako pagtingin ko pinuputok niya po pero hindi pumuputok,” the victim said. “Tumakbo na lang po ako at sumigaw.”
The gunman left, and after a few hours, he came back, but his gun still failed.
In the end, the suspect fired the gun, but the bullet hit the house. No one was hurt in the shooting, but the teenager was injured while running.
The gunman was caught after the victim complained to police. Unfortunately, even the owner of the gun was also arrested.
The 18-year-old suspect confessed to the crime. However, he said he only did it out of jealousy.
The suspect also admitted that he had been drinking when he committed the crime.
The teenager decided to file an attempted murder complaint against the suspect, who is also facing a complaint of illegal possession of firearms.
Minors riot in Caloocan City
A minor man fell on the road after being hit on the head by a tree by one of his enemies in a riot in Caloocan City.
The children were seen carrying sticks, not wearing face masks and face shields.
Moments later, the child can be seen holding his head, blood on his back, staggering along, until he fell on the road.
The one who hit the victim on the head, who was also a minor, was handed over by his parents to the barangay.
“Dumaan po kami sa kanila ‘yung nakaaway namin, sumisigaw sa bahay nila, war daw, war. Paglabas namin inaantay na po namin doon tapos lumabas na po,” the child who hit the victim said.
He added his friends just invited him, and he did not know that they were going to riot.
