A teacher reportedly made grade 10 students watch porn for their sex ed (sexual education) class in Ajuy, Iloilo.
Allegedly, that is the teacher’s way of teaching sex education.
Some students even testified that they had watched porn inside the school.
The incident concerned Ajuy Mayor Jett Rojas.
Rojas said he already talked to the administration of Pili National High School, which firmly believed that watching the porn video was only part of studying sex ed.
According to the mayor, the Department of Education should investigate and guide teachers on how sex education should be taught.
DepEd-Iloilo is now investigating the incident.

The Department of Education emphasized the importance of integrating sexuality education lessons in public elementary and high schools to prevent the increasing rate of teenage pregnancy, population growth, and sexual diseases in the country.
“(For) example, in science. We know that the parts of the body are a science topic. But here, we will integrate the concept of privacy, harassment, and good relationship. So, values education comes in,” Education Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla said.
Last month, the Commission on Population and Development (Popcom) urged President Rodrigo Duterte to declare teenage pregnancy a national emergency.
The agency said that if the government would not be pro-active in resolving teenage pregnancy in the country, “the Philippines might [have] an impending population crisis.”
Philippine Statistics Authority reports said there are about 200,000 Filipino women, ages 10 to 19 gave birth in 2017.

The Popcom chief also said, adolescent mothers, are more prone to premature delivery, low birth weight, complications at birth, inborn anatomical defects, and other health risks.
