Teacher arrested for raping minor in Agusan del Sur

A teacher and four others on the most wanted list of the police in the Caraga region were arrested on Monday.

The teacher, 30, allegedly raped a minor in Barangay Lapinigan, San Francisco town, Agusan del Sur.

Based on preliminary information from the Caraga-PNP public information office, the suspect was a teacher at a high school in the area.

According to the released statement of the 17-year-old victim, the suspect got drunk and later raped her.

The victim is now pregnant. As a result, the suspect will face rape charges.

Meanwhile, Nos 9 and 10 on the San Francisco Police’s most wanted list were also arrested in manhunt operations with a standing warrant of arrest for robbery with violence.

The two suspects were involved in the theft and shooting of the female victim in February.

The No. 6 most wanted of Prosperidad Police and Top 9 most wanted of Cabadbaran Police were also found in operation.

They were all temporarily in the custody of the operating unit, which arrested them while processing their documents.

Nearly P5 million worth of marijuana burned in Benguet

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) police and personnel burned thousands of plants and kilograms of dried marijuana during a 2-day marijuana eradication operation in Bakun town, Benguet.

According to the Philippine National Police, a marijuana plantation with an area of ​​800 square meters was discovered in Sitio Lengyatan and Sitio Dacap in Barangay Kayapa on Saturday.

About 6,400 large plants with a street value of P1.28 million are being uprooted there.

About 30 kilos of dried marijuana stalks worth an estimated P3.6 million were discovered in the area.

No suspects were caught in the operation, and a follow-up operation is being conducted against those behind the plantation.

Anyone behind the operation faces life imprisonment and a fine of up to P10 million.

A few days after another operation in Sitio Legab and Sitio Giligil in the same town, it discovered and burned 2 plantations worth almost P1 million worth of marijuana.
