Chinese nationals steal P1.2M from Malaysian employer arrested

Two Chinese nationals were arrested in Las Piñas City Tuesday night after allegedly stealing P1.2 million from their Malaysian national employer.

The foreigners were arrested after a 36-year-old businessman reported to police when he noticed cash from his bank account was stolen.

The money comes from the online gaming he runs where players’ bets go straight into his bank account.

The victim received a notification on his cellphone that the money had been transferred to the accounts of his two Chinese nationals employees.

The suspects were between 19 and 20 years old.

According to Police Lt. Alberto Vida, chief of the intelligence section of Las Piñas City police, the suspects had been serving the victim’s company for a long time. They also knew about handling the Malaysian national’s accounts.
