State seismologists said such volcanic activity proves that magma continues to rise under Taal’s surface.

Paolo Reniva, Taal resident volcanologist reported the volcano started to spew ash at 5:11 a.m. and is the “strongest in the past few days.”

(This is proof that there is still activity underneath because the magma is still there and the water there is boiling. There is just not enough force to cause an explosion, but the steaming increased a bit.)

Solidum again emphasized that residents could not return to their homes on the volcano island since Taal Volcano is still Alert Level 4, meaning a hazardous eruption could happen within days.

Baka sumabog,” he said.

(When that smoke is blocked, there will be pressure. It may explode.)

Last week, Taal Volcano’s main crater lake dried up and so us nearby rivers like the Pansipit River. More cracks and fissures were also observed near the volcano. These are signs of continuous magma movement and a possible explosive eruption of the volcano.
