Suzuki donates motorcycles to OVP Leni on her 55th birthday

Suzuki Motorcycle Philippines donated 10 units of Raider J Crossover motorcycles to the Office of the Vice President on Thursday as VP Leni Robredo celebrates her 55th birthday.

Robredo said frontliners who were temporarily staying in the dormitories the OVP has opened could use the motorcycles amid the enhanced community quarantine.

“Layon ng tulong na ito na mapadali ang pagpasok sa trabaho ng ating mga dormers. May kasama ring mga helmets ang mga itinurn-over na units,” Robredo said.

(This aid aims to make the travel of our dormers to their work easier. The turned-over units also include helmets.)

The OVP opened accommodations to all health workers, medical practitioners, and other frontliners such as security guards and COVID-19 program volunteers last month.

The dormitories, which is located in Cubao, Quezon City, is in partnership with the Rotary Club of San Juan del Monte and the Spouses of Rotary Club of San Juan North.

The OVP also gave free shuttle buses to transport COVID-19 frontliners when public transportation was suspended as part of the enhanced community quarantine measures.

VP Leni raises P55 million of COVID-19 donations on her 55th birthday

Vice President Leni Robredo turned 55 years old Thursday and reported her office already raised P55.8 million worth of funds so far.

Robredo posted “55M @ 55♥️” on Facebook, with a breakdown of donations from various sources, including P5.99 million from her office.

The OVP is also working with local designers and doctors to manufacturing personal protective suits.

“Ang patuloy na suporta sa frontliners, posible dahil sa bayanihan! Taos-puso po ang aming pasasalamat sa pagpapaabot ninyo ng tulong sa ating mga frontliners,” the Office of the Vice President said on Facebook.

Maria Leonor “Leni” Gerona Robredo (born Maria Leonor Santo Tomas Gerona; April 23, 1965) is a lawyer, social activist, and the 14th and incumbent Vice President of the Philippines.

Robredo first came to public attention in 2012 after the death of her husband, Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, in the 2012 Philippine Piper Seneca crash off the coast of Masbate Island.
