2 suspects in series of robbery-extortion in Muntinlupa and Pasay arrested

The entrapment operation caught 2 suspects from Tondo who are said to be behind at least 3 incidents of theft and extortion in the cities of Muntinlupa and Pasay.

Alias ​​Gerald, 27, and alias Randy, 34, were arrested at P. Guevarra St. in Manila after reaching P50,000 in marked money from the Chinese who allegedly victimized them.

According to Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, a Chinese man, approached them in July after being robbed on Diokno Avenue in Pasay City.

On Saturday, the operation took place after the victim reported to the police that he was allegedly harassed by the suspects in exchange for a hard drive taken from him.

The suspects were caught with .38 caliber and .45 caliber guns, a grenade, and ammunition.

After being arrested, police also confirmed that they were among 4 men who broke into a house in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa, and swept a vault in June.

Randy was also involved in another robbery incident in Alabang.

Police said the suspects admitted their participation in the Muntinlupa cases.

They also pointed to an alias Lucky mastermind behind the thefts.

They face charges of robbery, extortion, unlawful possession of explosives, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

5 fishermen rescued from capsized boat at sea in Zambales

When their boat capsized on Monday, the Philippine Coast Guard found 5 fishermen floating in the sea near San Antonio, Zambales.

They were sailing near Silanguin Cove when large waves and strong winds hit their boat in their account.

They are both in good condition and have returned to their families.
