Private rooms and spa rooms were found in a POGO that was raided by the authorities for allegedly being a den of prostitution and allegedly not having the corresponding license in Parañaque City.
In a report by Nico Waje in Unang Balita this Wednesday, it was said that the Southern Police District and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) attacked the establishment in the Aseana Business Park.
Private rooms, spa rooms, and desktops and gaming consoles were discovered on the seventh floor of the building.
At first glance, the seventh floor looks like a simple parking lot because of the parking space numbers. But instead of cars, private rooms for prostitution are allegedly placed in each parking slot.
While doing the inspection, nakita nga namin iyong prostitution den. Kung mapapansin niyo, mayroon mga babae na nandoon and they have rooms na ginagamit nila sa prostitution,” said PAOCC executive director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz.
But according to the women, all Filipinas, the only service they offer is massage.
Although the other floors of POGO have a license, the employees, mostly Chinese, did not show any relevant documents, such as passports.
Spa rooms found in Parañaque POGO hub
According to Cruz, the employees said their employers were holding their passports.
The POGO hub declared to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) that it only has more than 900 workers. Still, with the raid by the authorities, it is estimated that more than 2,000 are working there, primarily Chinese.
The two Chinese nationals who oversee the POGO hub are on hold.
The SPD said that 16 employees who were allegedly victims of human trafficking were rescued in the operation.
The PAOCC is looking into the possibility of closing the establishment due to human trafficking and violation of labor and immigration laws.
The Bureau of Immigration will visit the site to profile employees in said POGO.
Last week, the authorities reportedly discovered the torture chamber in a POGO hub in Pasay City that was attacked recently and is said to be involved in illegal activities such as sex trafficking, love, and crypto scams.
