Single mom raped, stabbed by her cousin in Cavite

A 26-year-old single mother in Cavite was raped, robbed, and stabbed. The culprit is the cousin of the victim.

In a report by Emil Sumangil on GMA News “24 Oras” on Friday, the surviving victim, who hid under the name “Leslie,” said that she received almost nine stab wounds in various parts of her body.

Her cousin allegedly attacked her on the night of May 30.

According to the victim, she found the suspect hiding under the sink. She allegedly asked him to leave but refused.

“Pina-block na niya po [yung pintuan], doon na kami nag-agawan na ginaganun-ganun ko yung padlock, tapos ginaganun niya rin sir, doon na ako kinabahan,” said Leslie.

(He blocked the door. That’s when we started to fight. That’s when I got nervous.)

The suspect took a knife and pointed it at her. The suspect did not know that the victim had secretly videotaped using a cellphone.

The victim was heard screaming for help and was stabbed by her cousin.

“Pinagtanggol ko talaga yung sarili ko, habang sinusuntok niya ako sinasaksak niya ako atras ako nang atras,” said Leslie.

(I really defended myself, while he was punching me, he was stabbing me.)

When the suspect heard that someone was coming, he fled and took the victim’s money.

“Hindi ko inexpect na ganun, talagang gusto niya akong patayin nung time na ‘yon kung hindi lang ako nakipaglaban,” the single mother said.

(I didn’t expect that he really wanted to kill me at that time if I hadn’t just fought.)

“Paano kung namatay ako sa loob ng bahay, paano yung dalawa kong anak, sinong bubuhay ang liit-liit pa, wala naman akong ginawa sa’yong kasalanan, ang bait ko,” the victim said.

(What if I died inside the house, what would happen to my two children, who would support them? They are still young. I did not do anything wrong. I am kind.)

The police promised to bring the victim to justice.
