Security guard Mark Archie Torriefiel, the suspect in the killing of pawnshop manager Bonna Ambay, fled Kalibo, Aklan, on the night of June 05, 2022.
Kalibo Municipal Police Station received a phone call around 9:08 a.m. on June 6, 2022, from a concerned citizen notifying them that a dead body had been discovered inside the RD Pawn Shop on Mabini St. Poblacion, Kalibo, Aklan.
PNP members from this station responded quickly to check the report. Initial investigation revealed that at approximately 7:40 a.m. on the same date, Ronel Arboleda, incoming duty Security Guard under Lion Heart Security Agency, together with the staff of RD Pawnshop, will open their establishment as part of their Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
When they opened the roll-up door, they discovered that the folding grill inside the establishment was apparently open. They then conducted an ocular investigation inside the Pawnshop. They found the lifeless body of their branch manager, Bonna Ambay, 23 years old, single, native of Pandan, Antique, currently boarding at Crossing Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan, lying on the blood-splattered floor.
This office’s PNP employees requested the aid of Aklan Crime Forensic Unit 6 to process the crime scene. Bonna Ambay had many stab wounds on various sections of her body, according to the investigation.
The following things were discovered at the scene of the incident: One (1) handbag color beige (coach brand), with blood stain, believed to be owned by Bonna Ambay, one (1) pair of black Havaianas slippers, believed to be owned by the suspect, one (1) handcuff with blood stain, one (1) piece color pink coin purse, one (1) knife measuring more or less 21

During the investigation, the Area Manager of RD Pawnshop stated that the Pawnshop’s vault was intact and that no costly items were gone. They left Bonni Ambay and their Security Guard, identified as Mark Archie Torriefiel, 31 years old from Brgy. Cajilo, Makato, Aklan, according to the workers of RD Pawnshop who rendered duty on June 5, 2022.
According to CCTV footage, SG TORRIEFIEL departed the establishment alone around 05:30 PM on June 5, 2022, loaded in a tricycle and allegedly carrying his service handgun since no service firearms were found at the crime site. It is a .38 revolver that belonged to their agency.
During the investigation, the suspect’s service handgun, a.38 revolver, was discovered hidden behind a banana tree near his home in Brgy. Cajilo, Makato, Aklan, and the suspect had already flown to Caticlan with his common-law wife via TO GO ship on June 5, 2022.
